Starting again
You've tried therapy before. It didn't reach the thing.
Maybe you learned the coping skills, filled out the worksheets, and talked through your week, and still left feeling unseen. Maybe your therapist was kind but stayed on the surface, or moved faster than you could follow. That doesn't mean you're too much, too complicated, or beyond help. It may mean you need a different kind of therapy.
Why it may not have worked
- It focused on symptoms and never reached the story underneath.
- It moved at the pace of a manual, not your pace.
- You felt you had to perform being okay, or being a good client.
- Your history didn't fit a tidy framework.
What's different here
My work is psychodynamic and trauma-informed. We slow down, notice patterns that began long before now, and pay attention to what happens in your body and in the room between us. We don't skip past what's hard, and we don't push into it faster than you're ready. Many people I work with have been in therapy before, sometimes for years. Coming back takes courage, and I take that seriously.
Tell me what didn't work
In our first conversation, you're welcome to tell me what didn't help before. That isn't a complaint. It's useful information, and it helps us shape something that actually fits you.
